When "protecting your data" becomes a necessity in the face of a worrying situation
AUDITGOVERNPROTECTDETECT
The number of cyber incidents and data theft continues to rise (+10% in 2025 in complaints to the CNIL) and the situation is not improving with the widespread use of AI which is influencing our daily lives:
Automation of customized attacks, faster identification of vulnerabilities and zero-day flaws, etc.
The consequences? Paralysis of operations, leaks of sensitive data, and damage to online reputation, etc. All of this represents a financial cost that could be reduced by adopting a sound risk-based approach. Yet, too many companies still underestimate their level of exposure, due to a lack of resources, time, or by waiting for the implementation of NIS 2 before putting their cybersecurity strategy into practice.
By 2026, the CNIL will dedicate 50% of its audits and enforcement actions to cybersecurity breaches (source: CNIL)
NIS 2 / ReCyF: Let's not wait... now is the time to act
The publication of the ReCyF framework in March 2026 should allow organizations to anticipate and prepare without waiting for the directive's transposition. Attackers do not wait for transposition to cease their malicious activities. It is the responsibility of each organization to anticipate and strengthen its cybersecurity detection and resilience.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), mid-sized companies, local authorities... all are concerned...
We already highlighted in our previous article, during the Lyon Cyber Expo 2025, " Cybersecurity: a crucial issue for local authorities Data protection is not just about the private sector, but targets all organizations. The number of data theft incidents (data stealers) perfectly illustrates this.
How to move forward? Know your environment to better prepare...
The key point is to have a clear understanding of the security practices in place and to conduct a gap analysis against the ReCyF framework. The results will help identify actions to be taken internally or requiring external support (and therefore a budget), such as:
- Penetration testing to challenge infrastructure against external or internal threats
- Monitoring and Incident Response (SoC) services provide visibility and response in the event of a malicious situation.
- Vulnerability management and VoC service
- Crisis management preparation and exercise implementation
- The part-time CISO brings their expertise but also the management of the strategy
